Japanese-English Technical Translator (6-month, contract position)

Job Responsibilities

Translate technical documents from Japanese to English, including user manuals, release notes, installation instructions, as well as some marketing material. Also interpret at meetings/classes. This is a 40-hour a week, 6-month contract position with possibility for full-time employment after the 6 months end.

Job Requirements

BA/BS in a language-related field, or equivalent
Three to 5 years of experience translating technical documentation (especially in the semiconductor field) required
Solid interpretation skills very desirable
Familiarity with steppers/scanners desirable
Knowledge of Trados software very desirable
Strong technical/colloquial Japanese and excellent English communication skills required
Must be flexible with strong customer focus, time management, and communication skills
Able to interact successfully in a highly multicultural workplace
Able to maintain up-to-date knowledge in the field
